Alicante’s weather is typically Mediterranean, being the Sun its main character. One of the reasons for which Benidorm is the European capital for tourism is because it guarantees 320 days of sun a year and an average yearly temperature of 16º C. Although we can find climatic variations within the province due to its relief, winters tend to be soft and summers long and hot. Therefore, we can enjoy the sun presence across all the landscapes we will experience: beaches, palm orchards, the sea… We will learn how to enjoy that famous Mediterranean light, painted by the most popular Valencian artists like Sorolla or Varela. And, at the same time, we will learn to appreciate the shadow, so necessary during the summer time when the sun achieves its greatest splendor. Not in vain, the advertising campaigns of the first air companies operating here used to proclaim that “the Sun stays in Alicante during winter”.
